TEACH AT GFA

Ground Floor Artists has two classrooms available to rent to members and non-members alike.

The small classroom is in the northern back end of the building with 2 tables which comfortably seats 4 students, maximum 8 students. The small classroom fee is $30 for all day.

The large classroom is located at the front southern side of the building and is $60 a session. This room seats 20 with ½ table area per student. Morning session is 9am set up to take down by 1pm, afternoon session is 1pm set up to 4pm take down, or an evening session, set up between 4pm and take down by 9pm. Full day rental is $100.

All classroom rentals include a non-refundable $20 fee. This fee includes a flyer created by GFA that will hang in the classroom, multiple inserts in the class display rack, an event creation on Facebook, and a post on our Instagram. We will also email you digital images of the flyer and inserts that you may use to publicize your class.

GFA also prints a two-month calendar available for guests. The deadline to have your class information for the Jan/Feb calendar is Dec. 20th, Feb. 20th for the March/April, April 20th for the May/June, June 20th for the July/Aug, Aug 20th for the Sept/Oct and Oct 20th for the Nov/Dec Calendars. (If you miss these dates when reserving your classes, the info will still have the social media and print PR done by GFA).

In order to have your class flyer featured in our monthly newsletter, your class information must be processed by the 20th of each month.

We recommend that you have your own Instagram and Facebook accounts so that we can tag you.  If you would like to "boost" your class event on Facebook, you can pay additional $ for that.

POLICIES
There is no refund on the $20 class reservation and PR fee. The $20 fee is due at the time that you reserve the classroom. If you need to reschedule or amend your class information, there is an additional $10 fee.

Teachers are responsible for collecting the class fee, contacting the students to verify booking, and emailing them any important information needed for the class. GFA will forward each student's contact information to you through email as they book your class.

Teachers pay GFA the remaining classroom rental fee at the end of class with cash or check. If you want to use a card, there is a $3 additional fee.

There is a $40 cleaning fee if the room is not left the way it was found. We ask for your help in leaving the classrooms ready for the next class so that we can continue to give you an affordable rental rate. Thank you!

HOW TO RESERVE A CLASSROOM
After reserving your date, send an email containing a high-resolution JPEG (at least 300 dpi) of your class example and a synopsis of your class with date, time, class fee, and min. and max. students to groundfloorartistsclasses@gmail.com, PLEASE DO NOT ATTACH DOCUMENTS, simply copy and paste your information directly into the email.

Please send the above information as soon as possible. Classes are processed the  Wednesday after receiving your information and added to our website by the next Saturday.

BEFORE CLASS:
Please supply your own paper towels, table coverings etc. All tables must be completely covered with plastic or paper and the floors covered if the art media is extremely messy. Please pull the tables away from artwork on the walls if your techniques are messy.

AFTER CLASS:
Check that chairs and tables are free from paint or glue and pick up any trash so that the classroom will be ready for the next day.
Empty all trash into one of the outside bins.
Remove any paint on the sink and trash from the floors in the bathrooms and kitchen (especially after kids classes) so they will be ready for the next day.
If needed, vacuum the classroom.

If your class extends to the next day, you may leave the table coverings and supplies in the classroom. If your class is during closed hours, you may give a tour of the facility. Please don’t let kids run around, as art is fragile, especially in the gift shop. Teachers are responsible for breakage.

Helping us keep the classrooms clean and ready for the next class enables GFA to offer classroom rental at this low rate. Thank you!

After your class is finished, we recommend emailing your students to thank them for coming to develop a good relationship with them and create a following for your art classes and be sure to save your students information so that you can let them know about your future classes.
