About the Artist

Every artist has had an art interest since childhood, I am no different. Art has always been an escape for me, a place to get lost and go wondering in a place with no boundaries. If I have an art mantra, it would have to be “no boundaries”. I love the freedom of taking a blank canvas, (whether it is wood or water color paper) and creating a piece of art using the thoughts, images, and hidden secrets that are buried in my mind. I use existing magazine pages and alter them or create my own pages with paint or stain; I rip, cut, tear the papers and apply to wood or watercolor paper to create a unique piece of art. I have not invented a new art, I have taken what my eyes, ears, and mind have absorbed over the years and put those “things” on a canvas using my intuition to guide me along.

I do not have formal training with painting or mixed media; I am self-taught and learn using online workshops from professionals. My education has been in the world of clay the past 18 years; not being able to achieve the right colors and textures with glazes working with clay, I found myself with a paintbrush in hand, bottles of paint, paper, stamps, stencils, images, and lots of found objects that I could use to control the outcome of my "one of a kind" art. No boundaries!
